The Marine Unit has responsibilities in the areas of forecasting, climatology, observations and liaising with national and international bodies in the marine area.

The Sea Area Forecast issued by Met Éireann covers Irish Coastal Waters out to 30 nautical miles, and also includes the Irish Sea area as shown in the map

ECMWF 10 day Forecasts: Amazingly accurate overview up to ten days out.
This site shows high and low pressure (high-=good weather, low = poor weather). It shows high winds in yellow and gales in green.
So if your chosen day shows white and with the letter “H” nearby, the forecast is good.
If it is yellow or green expect rain and wind.
The wind direction follows the Isobars (lines of pressure on the chart)
The bar along the bottom gives the ten days - for example
