Takes  place over only 6 Saturdays starting  4th February and finishing 10th March 2011

Start time each day 1000 hours and finishing 1600 hrs    = 30 hours of instruction.

 This course is similar to the ISA Shorebased Theory but with some less important elements removed.  It covers all the material you will need to navigate in Coastal waters in a confident and professional manner. It will also cover the theory required for your ICC (driving licence).

Once you have your  Oceanmaster Theory Certificate, you can move on to other  courses such as ISA Day Skipper, or Yachtmaster.  Remember you do not have to move on to these courses – the theory course sets you up to be able to navigate and skipper a cruising yacht and those skills will always be with you.

The course is run by John Leahy, RYA/ISA Yachtmaster instructor (Ocean) with over 50 years of sailing experience including Atlantic crossing.

Normal price of a full ISA theory course is around €500.  This course is well priced at only €200 plus 50 euro for materials including the ISA Yachtmaster pack with sells for 50 euro normally.

You will need plotting instruments which you will need to obtain or borrow.

Once you have done this course, you can take the ICC practical on the water test of 4 hours duration and you will then be fully qualified to charter overseas.
